One of the best parts of growing up is getting money from the Tooth Fairy once you lose a tooth. Right?

Well, it looks like the Tooth Fairy who covers the Midwestern portion of the country is feeling a little cheap these days, which may take away a little bit of the excitement.

According to a press release put out by Delta Dental, the average value of a lost tooth has gone up about thirty cents nationally but the Midwest still falls behind the average.

The release says the average treat a kid gets per tooth in the Midwest is about three dollars and seventy-one cents. This is up about seventy-five cents from last year but is still low compared to the Northeast, the South and the West.

Delta Dental has been tracking the Tooth Fairy for 22 years so they have quite a bit of data to hang their hat on here.
