Second Case Of COVID-19 Confirmed In Bayfield County

The second case of COVID-19 coronavirus has been confirmed in Bayfield County, Wisconsin.

Bayfield County government officials shared the news on Thursday, March 26th. According to their press release, this person did not have a history of travel or contact with the first person confirmed to have COVID-19 in the county.

The Public Health Officer for Bayfield County says this case provides "even more reason" to take Governor Evers' Safer At Home order seriously and that the county does expect to see more cases in the future.

Recently, Bayfield County officials issued an Inter-County Travel Advisory, asking seasonal and second-home owners in the area to stay away for now.

The first case of COVID-19 in the Bayfield County area was confirmed on Thursday, March 19th. According to the Bayfield County Health Department, a high school student from the area started showing symptoms after traveling to an area where it was spreading.

At this time, officials ask you to stay home if you have a cold, cough, fever or difficulty breathing. It is also important to stay home and avoid making unnecessary trips out, especially if you recently came back to the Bayfield County area.
