Sir Ian McKellan Plays A Retired Sherlock Holmes in ‘Mr. Holmes’ [VIDEO]

Based on the 2005 novel 'A Slight Trick of the Mind' by Mitch Cullin, we see one of the world's greatest detectives in a new light, 93 years old and retired.

Taking place in 1947 Holmes lives with his housekeeper and her son and looks back on his successful long career while writing journals, and dealing with his crippling once brilliant mind. Of course the maids son helps Holmes solve one last unsolved case.

Growing up I read and watched a lot of Sherlock Holmes due to my mom being such a big fan. Ian Mckellan is one of my favorite actors and I'm so excited to see him play the great detective. I'm also very interested to see how this story plays out and I'll definitely be seeing it opening weekend!
