St. Luke’s Needs Tablet Donations To Keep Patients Connected

Due to pandemic-related visitor restrictions, St. Luke's is asking for tablet donations so that patients can remain connected to friends and family from the hospital.

According to our media partners at WDIO-TV, elderly patients find it especially difficult to communicate with loved ones as they often have older phones or are too sick to operate devices to stay connected.

"Being able to connect with your family and your loved ones at the time when you need them most is really important," said Catherine Carter Huber, the executive director of St. Luke's Foundation.

St. Luke's IT techs will be involved in properly cleaning the tablets and setting them up.  Nurses and doctors will then work with patients to use the tablets to connect them with their family and friends.

Donation of tablets can be dropped on the first floor of the St. Luke's Foundation office or at Building A at the security desk, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Please make sure to include a charger.
