Superior Pride Labor Day Celebration At Barkers Island Details
The 2022 edition of the Duluth-Superior Pride Festival happens in the Twin Ports Labor Day Weekend. To celebrate, organizers have established events on both sides of the bridge - with something for everyone.
And while events occur on each of the days of the weekend in both Duluth and Superior, the City of Superior is hosting an afternoon and evening event happening on Monday - Labor Day - September 5 - at Barker's Island Festival Park.
It's billed as the Superior Pride Labor Day Celebration. The event starts at 1:00 PM and is family friendly - with kids activities - and more. The day culminates with the fireworks display that was held-over from the 4th of July (due to the weather). The entire day is absolutely free of charge.
According to the details listed on the City of Superior's website, here is the schedule of events for the day:
- Dennis Vanalstine Memorial Car Show: Runs from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Duluth-Superior Pride Silent Auction: Runs from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Car & Motorcycle Show Awards: Happens at 4:30 PM
- "Live! Drag Show": Runs from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
There will also be live music happening throughout the day at the following times:
- 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM: Deep Water Music
- 2:45 PM to 4:15 PM: Born Too Late
- 7:15 PM to 10:00 PM: Darling Daughter
The previously mentioned fireworks will happen at 8:30 PM. It's worth noting that the time is a little earlier than many might expect - especially those who gauge fireworks start times by the 4th of July holiday; sunset occurs later in the evening this time of year!
Throughout the day, a variety of vendors will have food and beverages for sale. Look for trucks and booths from Mr. Goodies, Mystery Mobile, Oasis Del Norte, Sweeden Sweets, K&B Grilled Cheese, Superior Waffles. And the Border Town Betties will sell beverages - including beer.
