Books know no boundaries and the fun never ends when the Superior Public Library takes it's schedule of family-friendly activities on to the outdoors for the summer season.  The library has a full slate of outdoor programs for the summer months scheduled to happen in Billings Park.

Storytime In The Park returns for another summer of fun with the program scheduled to happen every Tuesday at the Billings Park Pavilion 2 starting at 10:30 AM.  Bring the kids for stories, age-appropriate actives and crafts, and of course - fun! This activity will happen all summer long - rain or shine.

In addition to the on-going weekly storytime, the Superior Public Library has also scheduled one-time-only special activities.  Here's a look at some of what's on the schedule so far:

  • Thursday, June 17 - don't miss ventriloquist, impersonator, and magician Jeremy Lepak, with his variety of wacky antics.  The show will happen at Billings Park Pavillion 2 with two complete shows - at 2:00 PM and again at 6:30 PM.
  • Thursday, June 24 - it's "Kids Can Be Birdwatchers, Too!".  Join the Duluth Audubon Society at Billings Park Pavilion 2 ay 2:00 PM for a free kids' program that's all about birds.  The whole family can learn what to watch for and what to listen for so that everyone can appreciate the birds that live and hang out in your neighborhood.
  • Friday, July 2 - If you have kids who like "creepy-crawly things", this is the event for them.  It's The Snake Pit - a hands-on learning experience in Billings Park Pavilion 2 starting at 6:30 PM.  Kids of all ages will learn about, meet, and take pictures with frogs, toads, snakes, cockroaches, tarantulas, and more.

All of the outdoor family-activities are free and open to the general public. For more details, visit the website of the Superior Public Library.
