Taylor Swift got a haircut and tweeted a photo of her lovely new long-layered style. The cut features long, angled layers in the front, with eyebrow-skimming fringe; it is so flattering on Swift, who is known for her signature ringlets.

Next time you’re having a bad hair day, just remember everything these tresses have been through. No, we don’t mean dye and flat-irons (damaging as they are), we mean what it’s endured historically.

There are some fictional characters whose hair is so iconic that if someone were to take the razor to their cranium they’d lose their whole identity. What would Mr. T be without his beard and mohawk? How about Leia without the buns?
