It's that time of the year again. Forecasters are predicting our first official snowfall of the season and everyone has let out a collective sigh.

It's not that we hate winter in the Northland. It is just that our winters are a bit longer, colder and snowier than others across the country. Even if we do love it, we are never ready for it just yet when it finally does roll around.

All we can do is laugh and for that reason, I have compiled a list of the 12 stages of a Northland winter. Ha!

By the way, we have a strong chance of a La Niña winter this year which means we can expect a colder and snowier winter than we usually see here in the Twin Ports. Better have that snow scraper handy!
