The City of Duluth is Planning Changes to Stoplights in Front of St. Scholastica
The city of Duluth has opened up bids to change up the stoplights in front of the College of St. Scholastica and also repave part of Kenwood Avenue.
According to the Duluth News Tribune the project will change the stoplight route at the intersection of Kenwood Avenue, West College Street and Lyons street requiring drivers on Lyons to make a right turn only, versus both directions as it is now.
Duncan Schwensohn a Senior Engineer for the city of Duluth Public Works and Utilities Department said the two part traffic light system has become very confusing for some drivers, and the no right turn on red arrow for traffic coming from West College Street is rarely followed anyway.
The plan also calls for a repaving of about 700 feet of Kenwood Avenue and the replacement of some sidewalks too. they hope to have the project completed before school resumes in the Fall.
