While death and taxes are the only two guarantees in life, it seems the only guarantees on social media are hoaxy, fake news and an endless supply of new "challenges". Some of these challenges have been for a good cause, like the Ice Bucket Challenge. Others have been for laughs, like the Cheesiest Challenge. The latest of these challenges is definitely trying for laughs in a dark sort of way.

This new challenge is something called the #HideTheBodyChallenge. The "challenge" is to convince a friend or family member you have a dead body you need to dispose of, and you need their help to get rid of it. Most of these HideTheBodyChallenges are shared by taking a screenshot of the conversation from text messages, while others have used audio or video to capture the results. Signs of this challenge first popped up at the end of November on social media, and it seems to be growing in popularity.

It seems like a new "challenge" pops up every week, mostly being ridiculous ways for people with smartphones to entertain themselves and their friends. This is one of the more egregious of these challenges, making someone close to you think you killed some. Not really funny in my opinion. The internet disagrees. What do you think?

Here are some examples of this latest trend from around the world of social media.
