Day two of windy conditions in the Northland has prompted red flag warnings, gale warnings, high wind warnings, and wind advisories across Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin.

Some of the windiest areas are along Lake Superior, from Duluth up parts of the North Shore, but it has been windy across the Northland.

Gusty conditions have led to some power outages due to fallen trees, including one outage that impacted about 3,000 customers in Hermantown and the Duluth Heights and Peidmont neighborhoods of Duluth earlier today.

The windy conditions are also not good for ongoing firefighting efforts, as three wildfires continue to burn in Northland. Despite recent rain, conditions still remain dry, and the wind helps fan the flames.

It is expected to stay particularly windy throughout the afternoon and evening hours, slowly calming down some overnight. I say "some" because it will remain quite breezy through the day on Wednesday, though less windy than Tuesday.

Thursday and Friday will still remain breezy, but will be significantly less windy than Monday and Tuesday have been.
