The UMD women's tennis team had its final fall practice at Glensheen on a very special court.

The clay tennis court at Gleensheen is one of only two natural red clay courts still useable in the state.

“It’s really fun to be in that nostalgic history that we have in our town where we have such rich culture that sometimes living here we forget it’s here. And to be able to reconnect with that is really neat and awesome to bring that to our players,” head coach Jessica Worden told FOX 21 news.

The clay-court requires special maintenance with a roller to keep it flat and the court needs to dry for about a week after a rainfall according to Glensheen. Check out the Facebook post below for more information about the court.
