Vikings Rookie Shot Four Times While Visiting Aunt

A Minnesota Vikings rookie was visiting his Aunt in Washington D.C. when he was shot four times.

Defensive Tackle Jaylen Twyman is expected to make a full recovery after his agent Drew Rosenhaus said the rookie was in the "Wrong place, wrong time." ESPN is reporting that Twyman was shot in the arm, leg, buttocks and shoulder while in a vehicle.

The Minnesota Vikings released a statement saying, "We have been in direct contact with Jaylen and his family, and we are extremely thankful Jaylen is expected to make a full recovery. At this time we will defer any further comment to the proper authorities."

Three other men that were with Twyman were also shot, all the shooting victims are expected to make a full recovery. Police in Washington D.C. are still looking for a suspect but have photos of a vehicle that was at the scene of the shooting.

Twyman was drafted by the Vikings in the sixth round in the 199th spot after playing three seasons as a defensive lineman with the University of Pittsburgh. He opted out of the 2020 college season due to COVID-19 but had a great 2019 season, playing 13 games, recording 41 tackles and 10.5 sacks.

Twyman was born and raised in Washington D.C. and played high school football at H.D. Woodson High School.
