The Minnesota Department of Health has issued a No Water Contact Warning for two beaches in Duluth.

According to Minnesota Department of Health the two most recent findings are as of Wednesday June 14th where water contact is not recommended:

1.) Lakewalk Beach: located next to Sisters City Park behind Endion Station, high bacteria found in the sample.

2.) Minnesota Point 15th Street Harbor Side (Formerly Known as the New Duluth Boat Club / 14th St Beach) high bacteria was found in the sample.

With the warmer weather now and the high concentration of birds in the area and in the water it is best to check before heading out to the beaches this summer. Minnesota Lake Superior Beach Monitoring is a great resource to make sure the water is safe to swim. Click Here for Map.

If you or someone you know becomes ill after swimming please contact your local health department.
