You may have noticed that some of your weather apps are having problems connecting to the Duluth weather radar, here's why.

The National Weather Service in Duluth had to upgrade the radar pedestal which required the dome on the radar to be removed, the pedestal replaced and the radome put back in place.

The pedestal rotates the radar dish around horizontally and tilts up and down vertically, doing this hardware upgrade will help keep the radar running good well into the 2030s.

The NWS says that they expect to have the radar back online by August 31st. Keep up with the latest by following their Facebook page here.
