Wisconsin DNR Confirms Cougar Sighting in Bayfield County
Trail cams caught the sneaky animal.
The Wisconsin DNR confirmed to the Duluth News Tribune that they have two confirmed sightings of either the same cougar or two different animals both in Bayfield County.
One sighting was captured on August 13th, the cougar was caught on a trail camera with a dead coyote in its mouth. The other sighting was on August 20th from a deer hunters trail cam that had photos of the cat catching and dragging away a deer.
Confirmed sightings are rare, according to the DNT, this is the first confirmed sighting in many years in Bayfield County. Minnesota's DNR has 29 confirmed sightings since 2004.
