Mary Gooze of Oregon, Wisconsin is an amazing inspiration to us all, as she has set out to swim across lakes all over the country to raise funds and awareness for  metastatic breast cancer research. Her journey is called "One woman, many Lakes."

Gooze was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in 2012 and 20 months later was told it had metastasized into her bones. The longtime runner was told by her doctor that she could no longer run, and not one to be inactive she channeled her energy into swimming.

Gooze made a stop yesterday in the Twin Cities to swim across Lake Nokomis as part of her efforts to raise money for MetAvivor, an organization that directs 100% of all donations to metastatic cancer.
