Minnesota and Wisconsin are full of lakes and other outdoor bodies of water to go swimming. While outdoor swimming in the Northland is possible in the summer months, maybe you want to take a dip in the winter. Or maybe you just like to enjoy time in the water without sharing space with fish and other aquatic creatures.

Whatever your motivation, there are some great places to play in the water or get a swim in around the Twin Ports. Obviously, you could stay at one of the many area hotels and enjoy their pool, but what if you want to swim without a hotel stay?

I did some research and found some great options of places where you and your family can go swimming for the day without getting a hotel room or paying a membership fee.
