There are plenty of kids who like to skateboard but there are plenty of adults too.

Having a decent skate park so any interested can practice that sport is good for the community all around.  It gives local youth something athletic to participate in, and helps to keep them off of the street.  It also can bring revenue to a community with it potentially being a destination for out-of-town individuals seeking another locale to hone their skills.

The Gary New Duluth Recreation Center is looking to build a skate park, and they need your help.  Obviously it can cost quite a bit and with construction material prices currently, just imagine what it might take to build a modern skate park.  To help with the fundraising for the park, the GND Rec Center is throwing a party you're invited to.

It's called "Rock the Park", and it will be a great night of fun while raising some money for something good for the community.  The event will happen on Friday, November 26th at Clyde Iron in Duluth, from 7:00PM-11:00PM

It's only a $10 cover to get in and pizza will be provided by Pizza LuceVIPHugo'sSammy's, and Pizza Hut.

In addition, there will be great live music from local favorites.  Sydney Hansen will grace the stage to start the show followed by the second greatest rock 'n roll band in the world, the Centerville All Stars.

Since it's the day after Thanksgiving, don't eat too much turkey so you can save room for all of that pizza and be ready to hit the dance floor.  Rock the Park will also feature numerous raffles throughout the evening, and you'll even get to hang out with me.  Come on out and help support the cause for a skate park that will really benefit the Twin Ports community.
