According to the Duluth News Tribune another Younkers store in the Twin Ports could face closure, this latest one could be at the Miller Hill Mall. In January 2018 the Younkers store in the Mariner Mall in Superior announced they were closing, and will permanently close their doors at the end of this month.

The Bon-Ton Parent company who owns Younkers and Herbergers stores is in active negotiations with an investor group to acquire the company, but even if that happens the future of some of the stores around the country staying open may still be in jeopardy.

The company wrote to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development and said as a precaution that the Younkers store in Duluth and three Herbergers stores in the Twin Cities will close, and " the closing is expected to be permanent."

If those stores do close, layoffs would begin June 5th and would affect 650 jobs. For more details on this story Click Here
