Look Out Caribou! A New Coffee Chain Is Sneaking Into Your Minnesota Home Turf

When it comes to coffee chains in Minnesota, Caribou Coffee enjoys a strong level of popularity among many Minnesotans as a coffee chain that got its start in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

While other coffee chains like Starbucks and Dunkin also have a strong presence in Minnesota, a different national chain popular elsewhere around the country is opening its first Minnesota location.

Introducing Ziggi's Coffee to Minnesota

As a Minnesotan, you might think of the Wilf Family when you hear the name Ziggi (granted it's spelled Zygi, and not Ziggi). This coffee chain obviously has nothing to do with the owner of the Minnesota Vikings, though.

Ziggi's Coffee got its start as a small shop in Longmont, Colorado, in 2004. Since then, it has grown to have over 100 locations in 20 states across the country. The walk-up/drive-thru chain has locations in several states across the United States, including three South Dakota shops and an Iowa location.

Their website explains their mission is "to serve a convenient and superior cup of coffee with service customers can rely on".

Their menu includes their own take on popular coffee shop items like "Blenders" blended coffee beverages, "Refresherz" juice drinks, energy infusion beverages, specialty sparkling sodas, fruit smoothies, traditional hot coffee beverages, breakfast food items, and even a kids' drink menu.

Where is Ziggi's Coffee opening in Minnesota?

This new location in Minnesota will give the chain a presence in a total of 21 states. The new shop opens in Granite Falls, Minnesota, on April 1, 2025, with plans for several days' worth of specials and events in the following days to commemorate their opening.

The new shop will be located at 1270 Highway 212 W in Granite Falls, in Southwestern Minnesota. This expansion into Western Minnesota is about a 2 and a half hour drive from the next-closest Ziggi's location, found in Sioux Falls.

Are there other Minnesota Ziggi's Coffee locations planned?

There aren't any that have been announced, but the company is working to expand across the country, so gaining a foothold in Minnesota could be the first step to seeing more Ziggi's locations opening up in Minnesota in the future.
