If you haven't seen the first season of 'Homeland,' seems like now's a good time to start!  Not only does the new season begin on Sunday, September 30, but its lead actors are on fire!  Claire Danes has taken home the 2012 Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama, just moments after her 'Homeland' co-star Damian Lewis did the same in the men's category.  The Showtime drama also won for its writing, making it a very big night for 'Homeland.'

So, who did Claire Danes beat out with her Emmy-winning work as schizophrenic CIA analyst Carrie Matheson?  'Damages' Glenn Close, 'Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss, 'Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery, 'The Good Wife's Julianna Marguilles, and 'Harry's Law's Kathy Bates all fell short of Danes, earning her the gold.

Plus, it's her second Emmy, the first being for 'Temple Grandin!'  Who knew?  Be sure to catch up on the series before season 2 debuts on Sunday, September 30, and tell us if you think Claire Danes deserved the Emmy for 'Homeland' in the comments!
