2012 Emmy Awards: Jessica Lange Wins Outstanding Supporting Actress for ‘American Horror Story’

Well, don’t get too excited. Jessica Lange may have won the Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmy, but in the Mini-Series or Movie category, where FX managed to score 17 nominations for ‘American Horror Story.’ Some would argue that ‘American Horror Story’ isn’t quite a mini-series, but given the show’s nature of reinventing every year, the Ryan Murphy horror-thriller managed to eke by. But yay for Jessica Lange!
Lang managed to beat out some serious Hollywood heavies for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Mini-Series or a Movie’ category, including Julianne Moore’s turn as Sarah Palin for HBO’s ‘Game Change,’ and Nicole Kidman’s role in ‘Hemingway & Gellhorn.’ This is Jessica Lange’s second career Emmy win out of four nominations, the other being for ‘Grey Gardens.’
Of course, we’ll really have to see what happens next year, where Jessica Lange will no doubt be entered for her new role as the head of ‘American Horror Story: Asylum!’ Tell us in the comments if you agree with Lange’s Emmy win for the smarmy, southern Constance Tate!
