As 2014 comes to a close, we decided to take a look back at the year that was. It was certainly an interesting year for us here in the Twin Ports. From extreme weather to celebrity visitors and crazy-awesome videos, we put together a list of the top 10 most visited, liked, and shared local stories from our website. Here they are!

Military Helicopters Buzz The Blatnik Bridge in Duluth
While fighter jets occasionally roaring over the Twin Ports isn't abnormal, seeing a formation of military helicopters buzzing over the Blatnik Bridge is something a lot of you found more intriguing. In a heated contest put on by the folks at Outside Magazine, Duluth was part of a national campaign to find out what the best outdoor town in the United States is. Two Brothers From a Small Town in Minnesota Make an Unusual Request to Jimmy Fallon

Ice Fishermen Catch Monster Lake Trout on Lake Superior
With early 2014 being as cold as it was, much of Lake Superior was frozen over late last winter. This gave these fishermen the opportunity to venture out in search of some lake trout on ol' Gitche Gumee. Little did they know they would pull this monster out of the deep.
