Every Thursday you may be one of the many whose facebook and twitter feed is filled up with old 'Throwback' pictures. I'm just as guilty of this myself. Sometimes I miss a week here or there. This is my submission for this week's Throwback Thursday.
Yesterday's 50+ degree weather was a welcome change from the incredibly cold and long winter we have seen in the Northland. One of the few perks the excessive cold provided was the rare opportunity for people to enjoy the icy beauty of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, commonly referred to as the "ice caves" during the winter months.
For those who don't know, I am a graduate of Bemidji State University - home of the mighty Beavers. On a few different occasions during the morning show, I've talked about how students at BSU would use Lake Bemidji as a parking lot when they were heading to class. Every time I've told stories about this, people don't believe me - even people who grew up in the region. Finally, I can say I have proof!
Saturday was the Annual Duluth Polar Bear Plunge. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen ear infection I was not able to plunge this year. However, I made it out and got some pictures and videos of those plungers out there.
This was pretty much my first year I've celebrated Valentine's Day. I've really never had a desire to celebrate it. I've always felt like the holiday should be scrapped and we should just get a second Halloween.
