Dave Chappelle was honored for his charitable endeavors in New York. Over the weekend, the veteran comedian received a citation from New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Cuomo's Assistant Director of Constituencies for African-American and Women's Affairs Nika Milbrun was on hand to present the honor to Chappelle. She cited the comedian's professional achievements and his contributions to the arts in New York.

"The city and state of New York have been very good to me...I couldn't ask for anything more from this city or this state except maybe a tax refund," Chappelle joked. "I'm from D.C., I lived in Ohio, but New York will always be home to me. I love New York."

Chappelle is almost done with his 16-show residency at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. So far, the concerts have been a huge success with Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Lauryn Hill delivering great performances last week.

Next month, Chappelle will host Rihanna's third annual Diamond Ball in New York on Sept. 14. Kendrick Lamar is slated to performed at the star-studded charity event.
