Downtown Duluth Street to be Temporarily Closed on Wednesday [UPDATE]

If you need to drive around Downtown Duluth on Wednesday morning (November 7), you may need to plan an alternate route due to a scheduled road closure.

The City of Duluth is warning drivers that First Street will be closed between 4th Avenue West and 5th Avenue West (in the vicinity of City Hall) during the morning hours until around noon. The closure is scheduled to allow the setup of a large crane to install a piece of equipment on the roof of City Hall.

An alternate route is suggested during the morning hours until the roadway is cleared of the equipment.

The City of Duluth is postponing the temporary road closure of First Street between 4th Avenue West and 5th Avenue West. The purpose of the temporary road closure was to allow the setup of a large crane to install a piece of equipment on the roof of City Hall. Mechanical issues were cited as the reason for the postponement.
