Professional Football Dreams? Minnesota’s New Arena Football Team Holding Tryout Event

As Minnesota's new professional football team gets ready for their inaugural season late this year, the Duluth Harbor Monsters are holding a tryout event to find talent to hit the field this summer.

The Duluth Harbor Monsters are one of the teams that will open the first season of The Arena League when play gets underway later this year. The team will see its first action during an exhibition game on May 25 before their regular season gets underway on June 1.

The team will be hosting their second tryout event as they continue to look for talent to add to the roster during an event in the Twin Ports area coming up at the beginning of February.

Not only will this event give prospective players the opportunity to be part of drills run by the team's coaching staff and front office team, but members of the public will also be able to attend to check out the action and meet some players already signed by the team.

When & where are the Duluth Harbor Monsters tryouts?

This tryout event will be held on Friday, February 2 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Proctor Rails Indoor Sports Complex located at 800 N. Boundary Ave. Proctor, MN.

Head Coach Tony O'Neil and Offensive Coordinator Kevin Gregory will be leading the tryout and drills, joined by newly-signed Director of Player Personnel, Jaysen "Yogi" Howard, who will also be assisting them with the drills and assessing the players trying out for the team.

What should you know if you want to participate in the tryout?

In order to participate, you will need to complete a participation waiver and media release and pay a $35 tryout fee. You can take care of these tasks by visiting the Duluth Harbor Monsters tryout page.

The team says they are looking for high-caliber athletes to join our team that will fit with the arena-style 6v6 game the league will operate under. They say this style of game requires speed, strength, and athleticism. The team's staff have designed drills and position work to bring out the best in prospective players.

What should you know if you want to attend as a fan/member of the public?

The public will be welcome to attend the tryout for free during the duration of the event. Along with the opportunity to watch the tryouts take place, you'll be able to meet some of the already-signed players and even get autographs.

There will also be giveaways from the team and their corporate partners as well as the chance to purchase team merchandise so you can show your Duluth pride while getting ready for the inaugural season to kick off this summer!
