Duluth Police Warn About Work From Home Scams

Working from home sounds great, no annoying co-workers, no commute, no workplace drama. But be careful, because criminals will exploit that desire and you could end up a victim of a scam.

Duluth Police posted a reminder on Facebook to be weary of a specific "money transferring scam," there are some tips to help avoid this scam, according to the FTC:

• stop transferring money
• close your bank account
• notify your bank and the wire transfer service about the scam
• report it to the FTC

Usually, these scammers will post job ads for openings as payment processing agents, finance support clerks, mystery shoppers, etc., so be sure to use caution when replying to something like this.
