Everson Griffen Named NFC Defensive Player of the Month

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October.

Griffen got 6 sacks in 5 games and has recorded a sack in all 8 games this season, tying a franchise record for consecutive games with a sack held by Jim Marshall and Jared Allen.

This is the second time Griffen has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month, also earning the honor in October of 2014. Griffen becomes the 2nd defensive end in team history to win the award twice, Chris Doleman was the other.
