For the first time ever John Mayer will be hitting the stage for his North American Tour with an acoustic version of all his hits. There will also be special performances on piano and electric guitar as he plays in arenas all over North America and Canada.

I remember the first time I ever heard John Mayer perform back in 2001, I immediately was taken with how cool it was to see this young guy playing his guitar, and his soulful voice was such a diversion from any other type of music I was listening to at the time. He had and still does have this laid-back vibe when he speaks which is also a big part of his songs.

The only other artist I have seen that did an acoustical show was James Taylor way back in the late 1980s and I have to say there is something really special and intimate about that which will be interesting to pull off in an arena but knowing John Mayer he is just the one to do it.

With 20 million albums sold to date, billions of streams of his songs, and seven grammy awards anyone who is a fan of Mayers music will have to make a point of going to this show. His opening acts include  Singer-songwriters Lizzy McAlpine, and Alec Benjamin, and a special guest is to be announced at a later date.
