Lisa Edelstein Leaving ‘House’

Actress Lisa Edelstein confirmed today that she will not return to the popular Fox series ‘House’ for an eighth season.
“After much consideration, I am moving onward with a combination of disappointment at leaving behind a character I have loved playing for seven years and excitement of the new opportunities in acting and producing that lie ahead,” the actress said in a statement.
Sources for the Hollywood Reporter said that Edelstein, who has played Dr. Lisa Cuddy since the show premiered in 2004, was asked to take a pay cut for the upcoming season. (Her contract with the show ends after this season.)
How this affects the future of ‘House’ remains to be seen.
The season 7 finale of ‘House’ airs Monday at 8PM.
