With this announcement, the Minnesota State Fair has almost filled its entire Grandstand Lineup for 2024.

Having already announced acts like Chance The Rapper, Mötley Crüe, Kidz Bop, and comedian Nate Bargatze, the Minnesota State Fair is looking to add yet another exciting act to their diverse roster

The latest addition to the Minnesota State Fair is one of the biggest bands from the mid-nineties into the early 2000s, with 3 albums that went multi-platinum, their first album alone went 12x platinum, selling over 12 million copies, but surprisingly only had one number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which shocked me.

Matchbox Twenty, who got their name from an emblem on a baseball cap, will play hits like "Push", "3AM", "Unwell", "Bent" and others as the Grandstand headliners on Friday, August 30th.

Tickets for the show will go on sale this Friday, April 12th and 10 AM through eTix.com. Ticket prices are $67, $77, and $87, watching the show from the Grandstand Party Deck will cost $134.

Despite being a band for nearly 30 years, the band has only put out 5 albums, they took a 10-year break after their 2002 album More Than You Think You Are, and their latest album, Where the Light Goes, comes 11-years after their fourth album North.

Rob Thomas, the lead singer for Matchbox Twenty, has also had a successful solo career, with his biggest hit being the 1999 collaboration with legendary Latin guitarist Carlos Santana on a song called "Smooth", this massive hit spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was also named as the #2 Hot 100 song of all time by Billboard.

Matchbox Twenty also had a moment last year when their song "Push" was featured in the blockbuster "Barbie" movie as a favorite jam of Ken.
