The Minnesota Twins have announced when they will retire Joe Mauer's number during the 2019 season.

Mark Saturday, June 15th on your calendar, that's when the Twins plan on making Mauer the ninth Twins player to have his number retired. The game starts at 6:10 PM vs. the Kansas City Royals and the first 20,000 fans will get a #7 baseball cap.

Plus, the Twins will be offering five special Mauer bobbleheads throughout the season:

  • May 24 - Mauer swinging in his Cretin-Derham Hall High School "Raiders" jersey
  • July 19 - 21-year-old Mauer making his Major League debut as the starting catcher on April 5, 2004
  • August 24 - Mauer with his American League MVP, Gold Glove, and Silver Slugger Awards from his 2009 season
  • September 7 - Mauer's final game on September 30, 2018

The fifth bobblehead will be available to people who purchase the special four-pack of tickets the Twins are selling here. Keep in mind that only 10,000 bobbleheads will be available for each game, so get there early.
