Money Dispute Could End Simpsons Run on TV

As the Simpsons approach their 500th episode this season, we are reminded of how the cartoon family has become an American television staple. The series has been on the air for over two decades and has grown an immense following over that span. Discussions between the studio and the six primary voice actors of the show have been less that positive, leading some to believe this, the 23rd season of the franchise, may be its last.
A report from The Daily Beast states an ultimatum has been delivered by the studio with a 30% pay cut on in the offer for the actors. To make up for the pay cut, the actors would be entitled to a percentage of merchandising, syndication profits, and other secondary avenues. According to the report, if the actors don’t accept the offer, the series may abruptly end following the conclusion of this season.
