Mystery of The Missing Shrimp in Duluth

This has to be one of the strangest things I've seen on the Duluth subreddit, a user looking for some missing cherry shrimp that was mailed to the wrong address.

The thread in r/duluth from username "fermentedflaneur" says that a friend sent them some live cherry shrimp, but sent them to the wrong address, an address that doesn't exist (730 E Toledo St Duluth MN 55805). Despite that, the shrimp were reported as delivered in the USPS tracking tool.

The Reddit user says they called the local post office and the national customer service number and submitted a ticket to contact them if the package was found. The user also stopped at their local post office branch and was told the same thing.

When all hope was almost lost for the missing shrimp the user says that they " got a call from a wonderful lady who works at the post office who saw my post on Nextdoor. My old mailman from Toledo St recognized my name, and took the package to my old address. They recovered the package earlier today."

The user said they would share an update on the package once they got it, I wonder how many of the shrimp survived the trip? Thankfully the weather has been fairly mild and above freezing, so hopefully they didn't freeze in transit.

Cherry Shrimp are native to China and northern Taiwan, but can also be found in Japan and Hawaii. They are popular shrimp to use in aquariums and despite their name, they come in a variety of colors including red, green, orange, yellow, and even purple.
