The Great Minnesota Get Together is approaching, and the list of new attractions has been announced in anticipation of the fair.

The Minnesota State Fair website lists 12 new attractions for this year's fair, adding something for everyone to the lineup of things to do. Among the new attractions is a giant sandbox for the whole family to 'dig in' and relax a little after a long day of walking. The new sandbox will be located east of the Family Fair Stage in Baldwin Park.

The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild will feature information about the history of brewing in Minnesota, as well as give you the opportunity to sample some of the state's many craft beers. The exhibit will be in the Agriculture Horticulture Building. It's a perfect place to wash down some of those cheese curds from just down the way.

The Minnesota DNR will be revamping their exhibit, adding a feature dedicated to invasive species. You'll have the chance to get an up-close look at the invasive species Minnesota faces, as well as learn about the threats these species pose and find out how they are being fought by the DNR and other agencies.

If you've ever wanted to learn how to skateboard or ride a BMX bike, you'll have the chance to work on your skills this year. The 3rd Lair SkatePark will offer lessons; $20 for  20 minutes instruction from a pro.

Additional exhibits, rides, and ways to get around are being added this year. You can see the full list here.
