THA: Business As Normal In Bangkok Center
BANGKOK, THAILAND – JULY 10: A few shoppers inside the empty Isetan department store at the Central World mall July 10, 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand. The store is the only shop open in the mall which was badly burned on May 19th by red shirt arsonists after the Thai military ousted the protesters from their encampment using military force. The store opened on June 24th after 8 weeks of closure in the Rachaprasong shopping area. One week ago the Thai government extended a state of emergency in 19 provinces of Thailand which allows authorities to restrict large gatherings and gives them broad powers restricting freedom of political speech by red shirts. Nearly 90 people were killed and 1,800 injured during many weeks of protests. (Photo by Paula Bronstein /Getty Images)
