A lot has changed since Minneapolis hosted Super Bowl XXVI in 1992, but I remember vividly the excitement in the air, to be a host city to a worldwide event like this is something almost indescribable. And the entire world will be watching again when the Superbowl returns to Minneapolis in 2018.

The city came alive with fans. players and press alike, plus everywhere you turned was something Super Bowl related. I never made it down to the Metrodome, but there were tons of activities all over the city. One night I was lucky enough to go to a Superbowl Party at a bar downtown that was once owned by Prince, called "Glam Slam."

As we walked up the steps into the V.I.P. lounge I remember rubbing elbows with the biggest people I have ever seen in my life, NFL Players all decked to the nines and big as buildings. I did not know who anybody was, but it was still pretty cool.

Prince did make an appearance later that night surrounded by his entourage, he did not perform, just sat and looked around. Now looking back on it that is the closest I ever saw Prince in person and will always be a great memory. My big celebrity run in was Jason Priestly from Beverly Hills 90210 he was hitting on a friend of mine and getting nowhere fast, I actually felt kind of bad for him. So here is to 2018 shedding the world spotlight on Minneapolis and the entire state of Minnesota!
