Minnesota was awarded to host the 2018 Super Bowl back in 2014 and now the NFL has finally announced when exactly that game will be played.

Maureen Hooley Baush said "Super Bowl LII is our opportunity to showcase Minnesota to the world; all that life in the Bold North has to offer, and our incredible hospitality".

Last year the Super Bowl drew a record of 167 million viewers and annually the big game is America's most watched television show. Now that the official date is set, let's start the countdown clock! I think it's so cool that Minnesota will host NFL's biggest game in 2018 and what a great way to show off the new stadium.

How cool would it be if the Vikings became the first team to host the Super Bowl at their home field?! I know it's still a ways away, but I predict the Vikings facing off against the Miami Dolphins for the championship. Let me know what you think of the Super Bowl 52 being played in Minnesota in the comments and who you think will play in it. Check out a cool time lapse video of the stadium below.
