Packers Use a Very Strange Looking American Flag for Pregame

The Packers played the Bills today at Lambeau field and during the pregame, the team unveiled what appears to be an American flag, but not the American flag?

The flag is missing about half of its stars and even more stripes, the flag appears to be a mashup of the American and Russian flags for some odd reason.

Many people posted photos of the strange looking flag on Twitter, many of them wondering what in the world they were thinking?

I would say that using this interpretation of the flag is a very peculiar decision by the Packers, I'm curious to see if they respond to this and what their excuse is for not using Old Glory?
