The University of Minnesota is going to celebrate Prince by presenting him with an honorary degree.

According to University, "Prior to Prince’s death, the University of Minnesota had been preparing to present him with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree, the University’s highest honor."

Unfortunately, that didn't happen before he died, but on September 26th starting at 7 pm at Ted Mann Concert Hall the University will present his estate the degree for "recognition of his remarkable talent, enduring influence in music, and his role in shaping the city of Minneapolis."

The event will include students from the School of Music performing Prince music. Tickets are free and the event is open to the public, but you'll need to RSVP in advance here.
