New Scam Targets Wells Fargo Customers Via Cell Phones
The Duluth Police Department is reporting that a number of locals have received fraudulent text messages claiming there is a problem with your Wells Fargo account.
The messages are coming from email@example.com, directing recipients to call (248) 556-7029. Upon contacting this number, callers are being prompted to provide personal data like social security numbers, bank account information, and other data. The Duluth Police remind the public it is never a good idea to give personal information over the phone unless you initiated the call with a trusted person or business.
