Grateful for his golf buddies, an Illinois man is alive today after falling 18 feet into a sink hole on a course in Southern Illinois.

Is it just me or does it seem like this is becoming more and more common in the news? With the tragic story a few weeks ago of the man in Florida who died as a giant sink hole opened up in his bedroom it has brought to light what seems to be a growing problem. I read about how they are common in Florida due to the soft clay ground, but in Illinois? That is to close for comfort.
