Superior Man in Critical Condition After Crashing Motorcycle Into Washed Out Gulley

Just after 8:30 last night 75 year-old Jack Povaser of Superior decided for one reason or another to avoid the barricades on Marina Drive at the entrance to Barker’s Island blocking the gulley created by the bridge washout caused by the June 20th storm and flooding.
According to the Superior Police, “A witness stated that he observed the motorcycle pass between the barricades while northbound on Marina Drive at a slow speed. When he looked back and didn’t see the motorcycle or rider he walked over and discovered that the driver and motorcycle were in the shallow creek at the bottom of the gulley. The witness then called 911.”
CPR was started and the victim was transported to Essentia Medical Center and is reported to be in critical condition as of this story.
