Alicia Keys is feeling hot! Hot! Hot! The R&B songbird took to her blog on Tuesday (Aug. 14) to announce the title of her new album, which is called ‘Girl on Fire.’ In her open letter to her fans, a rejuvenated Keys says she’s locked in the studio creating songs that are powerful, soulful, honest and brave.

Alicia Keys will perform a new song at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 6. This will be the second time the R&B piano queen unveiled a new track, the first was back in 2007 when she performed her anthemic hit ‘No One’ for a Las Vegas crowd.

Alicia Keys debuted a taste of new music in the form of the song ‘New Day‘ a few weeks ago and it marked a change in sound for the piano pop diva. She’s taking that whole “change is good” motif a step further with her look, as the beauty has chopped off her curly cues. Buh-bye, long, lush locks! Hello angled bob!

It’s been three years since we heard any new material from Alicia Keys. Since her hiatus, the R&B songbird became a new mom to three-year-old Egypt and is enjoying the married life with hubby Swizz Beatz. Now she’s ready to make her return to music.

With the recent passing of Etta James, it’s only appropriate that the Recording Academy will pay homage to the late R&B icon with a live performance at the 2012 Grammys. It has now been confirmed that Alicia Keys is the songstress who will perform a tribute to Miss Peaches at the show on Feb. 12.
