August 9, 2011 Spirit Mountain officially opened its latest attraction today, the "Timber Flyer" zip line. The ride has been thrilling riders since last week, but today was the big official "Grand Opening" complete with a Mayor, a Senator and a red ribbon for them to cut.
It was a gloomy morning with some spotty showers for those in attendance, like Duluth Mayor Don Ness, State Senator Roger Reinert and the Duluth Chamber of Commerce, but the weather didn't dampen the excitement of everyone ready to experience Duluth's newest thrill ride!
