Perhaps the only thing more amazing than watching a rocket soar through the sky is watching its engine being put together.

This is a simply stunning timelapse video of an RS-25 engine being built for a rocket. It's generally believed to be the world's most powerful engine, so, naturally, it's going to leave this planet, per the YouTube description:

Four RS-25 engines will power NASA’s new rocket, the Space Launch System, on missions to deep space, including to an asteroid and ultimately to Mars.

The engine was put together in Mississippi and is destined for some pretty great things, like that asteroid and Mars, making your summer vacation to the beach look pretty lame by comparison.

You can check out NASA's website to learn more about RS-25, although be warned: you may actually have to be a rocket scientist to understand everything.
