Trick Or Treating in 2011

Call me Old School, but boy has Trick or treating changed since I was a kid. First off, no matter what day of the week Halloween fell on we would hit the streets as soon as possible. Now kids wait until after dinner or until it get’s dark.
Almost every costume kids wear is from a store. What ever happened to being a hobo, ghost or hippie? No imaginations anymore, and kids (ours included) just don’t seem to really get that excited about it anymore. Granted our kids are older, but I looked forward to Halloween all year long, and I was a kid that was not limited to only having candy 1x a year.
My co-workers and I have all agreed, less houses with the lights on this year and those that did….not to many trick or treaters’. Not to say that this tradition will go away all together, but like anything times change.
