The 4th Annual Chester Park Trail Race, which was scheduled for June 28, will now be held virtually.  The free event offers participants 5k, 10k, and 6 Hour distance options.

There is no signup necessary and participation is open for anyone to run on any course they choose.  The only stipulation is that all participants match the course elevation gain of 400 feet per 5k.

“We are excited to see the creative courses that people come up with. It is a bummer to postpone the traditional Chester Park Trail Race but we will be back in 2021,” said Race Director Mike Ward.

All participants can submit their results now through June 28, 2020.  After running your virtual race with a GPS device/tracker, simply e-mail your name, final time and GPS/tracker data for proof to Race Director Mike Ward at mike@duluthtimingandevents.com.

Results will be posted online and the fastest/furthest male and female in each virtual race (5k, 10k, 6 Hour) will receive a Chester Park Trail Race runner cap, handheld water bottle holder, and free entry to the 2021 Chester Park Trail Race.

The 5k and 10k races will be determined by lowest time, the 6 Hour race will be determined by highest mileage.

While it's unfortunate that so many races have been affected by the pandemic, it is great to know that virtual options exist and they can open the door to people who may have felt uncomfortable in a formal race or event setting.
